With a strong foundation in both the medical and psychological fields, Barrett brings a comprehensive, compassionate approach to mental health care. Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Medical Humanities, Barrett has completed an MSN with a focus in Mental Health at Regis College and a BSN from Gwynedd Mercy University. Additionally, Barrett holds a Master’s in Medical Humanities, which complements a background in religious studies, providing a multidimensional perspective on the psychological, emotional, and spiritual aspects of wellness.
Throughout their career, Barrett has worked with clients of all ages facing a wide range of psychiatric and developmental challenges, trauma, and other life-altering conditions. They are skilled in crisis management, time-sensitive interventions, and problem-solving, developed through high-impact roles in demanding settings.
Barrett takes a holistic approach to patient care, emphasizing active listening and meticulous attention to patient history to address all aspects of well-being. They’ve created customizable plans for students struggling with anxiety-related school refusal and have a proven track record of building rapport with patients to foster trust and effective treatment outcomes.
Committed to collaborative care, Barrett works closely within interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for acting-out patients, utilizing therapeutic communication, verbal de-escalation techniques, and safe intervention practices. Licensed as a CA Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Barrett is dedicated to enhancing patient well-being through innovative, compassionate, and individualized care solutions.
