Damaris M. Gochez
Meet Damaris M. Gochez, M.S.W., a compassionate and skilled bilingual (English and Spanish) mental health professional who is dedicated to providing quality care to individuals and families in need. Damaris holds a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California, with a concentration in Health, and a Bachelor's degree in Human Development from California State University, Long Beach, where she also minored in Child Development and Family Studies.
Throughout her career, Damaris has gained extensive experience working with diverse populations, providing mental health services to children, youth, and adults. She has collaborated with professionals from various disciplines, such as social workers, educators, psychologists, psychiatrists, and legal attorneys, to ensure comprehensive care for her clients.
Before joining our team, Damaris worked as an Associate Therapist at Together Family Counseling and as a Clinician I at Hathaway-Sycamores Child & Family Services. In these roles, she provided direct clinical services, conducted intakes and assessments, and participated in case review meetings with governmental agencies. Damaris also completed a 550-hour MSW internship at the Salvation Army Alegria, where she provided one-on-one counseling, conducted assessments, and facilitated wellness workshops for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS.
Damaris holds certifications in Motivational Interviewing, Problem Solving Therapy, Domestic Violence, and is DMH Certified. Her expertise and empathetic approach make her an invaluable asset to our psychology practice, as she strives to improve the mental wellbeing of her clients and create lasting, positive change in their lives.
